Matthias Preißinger received his first piano lessons at the age of 8 years. After autodidactic studies in the field of jazz, he established himself in 1976 as a keyboardist in the Munich jazz and fusion scene. He played also with Klaus Doldingers Passport and Harald Rüschenbaum Bigband. 1984-89 he studied classical composition at the Musikhochschule Munich with Dieter Acker and Wilhelm Killmayer. Highlights of his career include concerts and tours with Paquito D’Rivera, Dave Valentin, Bobby Shew, Claudio Roditi and Robbie Ameen. He leads the Hard Days Night Big Band and teaches Jazz Theory at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich.
